Personalized medicine begins with your genes.

Pharmacogenetics, testing genetic variations that affect the body's response to medications

Discover how your body reacts to certain medications and optimize your therapy according to your genetic profile.

What is pharmacogenetics?

Pharmacogenetics is a field of molecular medicine that studies how genetic variations affect the body's response to certain drugs.
The goal is to: avoid undesirable side effects, select the right medication, determine the optimal dose, and increase the effectiveness of therapy, as each person reacts differently to medications. Some drugs may be ineffective or cause severe side effects – this is precisely why it is important to know your genetic profile before introducing a certain therapy.

For whom is pharmacogenetic testing recommended?

Pharmacogenetic testing is particularly useful for

Individuals using multiple medications simultaneously (polytherapy)

Patients with unusual reactions to medications

Those who seek prevention and a personalized approach to therapy

Oncology, cardiology, neurology, and psychiatry patients

Doctors who wish to tailor treatment to the patient

In which areas is pharmacogenetics particularly useful?

DPYD

The DPYD gene encodes the enzyme dihydropyrimidine dehydrogenase. This analysis determines the presence of mutations in the DPYD gene that can reduce activity or affect the complete loss of function of this enzyme. This analysis is conducted for the purpose of selecting chemotherapy. Sample type: blood and buccal mucosa swab.
